About Us

Care That Begins With Compassion

Dawning Care was created from a simple but powerful realisation: people need more than just medical support – they need time, understanding, and genuine human connection.

Our founder, Sizeni Halfacre, is a Registered Nurse with over 20 years’ experience in Cardiology, including years in busy GP practices. Throughout her nursing career, she had the privilege of caring for elderly patients whose needs often extended beyond clinical treatment. Many were lonely, worried, or overwhelmed, but appointments were limited due to system constraints. There was never enough time to truly care. Sizeni became deeply aware that many patients also longed for unhurried reassurance, companionship, and someone willing to truly listen to them.

She knew there had to be a better way. In her own words

“We are who we are because of the love and kindness we received from those who have grown in age”.

Sizeni Halfacre

That belief led to the creation of Dawning Care – a home care service built on dignity, patience, and kindness. Here, care is never rushed. We take the time to understand each person’s needs, routines, and preferences, so they can feel safe, respected, and truly supported at home.

We don’t just provide care. We provide reassurance, companionship, and peace of mind for families. At Dawning Care, every visit starts with listening.
